Events - New York Photo Walks SUN MAY 20th Philly Love Park, Logan Park, BoatHouse Row, Drexel Park Waterworks - May 14
New York Photo Walks - An Affiliate of NYCAUG.net
This Photo Walk will cover quite a distance with fantastic photo opportunities. You may join and leave us as your schedule requires. As always, RJ will be challenging you to expand your photographic creative awareness. Though a tripod will be useful, having a way to sling it over your back or shoulder will be a good idea. Otherwise having it might seem to be too heavy for walking. Though we will be seeing, photographing, and walking a lot, along the way there will be numerous places where will sit down to talk, relax, and catch our breath.
This Photo Walk will begin downtown at LOVE Park. Also nearby are City Hall, and the Municipal Services Building with its interesting sculptures and surrounding area of fantastic buildings and spires. At Logan Park we will photograph the fountain and surrounding buildings. After that will be the inside rotunda skylight in The Franklin Institute Science Museum. Next will be the outside area of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The adjacent Spring Garden Bridge will provide fantastic daylight views of the Philadelphia skyline and Boat House Row. Here along with a tripod, telephoto lens or a point and shoot with one built-in will be useful. At Drexel Park you will also be photographing the Philadelphia skyline in daylight. While there we will pause to get something to eat. Returning to Spring Garden Bridge, and Waterworks, we will take additional shots of Boat House Row and the Philadelphia skyline. Then returning to Logan Square we will be able to take night shots of the fountain and surrounding area. Finally back at LOVE Park we will photograph the surrounding area at night time. An option is to stay in the Spring Garden and Drexel Park area for sunset, and then night photography..
For those who arrive late and/or want to meet us along the way, the day before this event R.J. will be e-mailing his RJ's No Text Messaging Cell Phone number to all members having a Yes R.S.V.P. It is a good idea to exchange your cell phone numbers with other friends who are attending and/or RJ.
